Expanding First Response – Amplifying Alternatives to Policing & Uplifting Community-Led Models
Speakers: Anne Larsen, Charlotte Resing and Earl Miller, CPS
Providing a framework to build out community responder models in their neighborhoods, this session will highlight the issues and elevating the diversity of models across the country. The presenters will bring forth recommendations in building and supporting community-led models based on a holistic approach to redesigning mental health emergency response. Our panel will create space and conversations centering equity and racial justice within programs, with tangible lessons learned from the field.

Shaping a sustainable protective pathway to youth mental and behavioral wellbeing

Participants will be equipped with knowledge of the 5-Elements Model, an innovative, socioecological framework to reduce mental and behavioral health risks to youth. Learn how to use applied behavioral science models to strengthen wellbeing factors, addressing high-risk factors. Examine risk and needs assessment data, learn systemic strategic planning strategies to co-design protective solutions, and methods to engage local partnerships. Receive guidance on how to create a mentally healthier community for children and the adults supporting them.

This presentation offers a summary of cutting-edge research regarding the use of prescribed psychedelics in a variety of mental illness settings.

Microaggressions in the Workplace: How Burnout Shows Up & Ways to be Culturally Supportive
Speaker: Dr. Holly, LPC, NCC, CAADC, SAP
- Define microaggressions, its 3 types, language and psychological impact.
- Identify ways to address microaggressions, how to be culturally supportive and best practices on ways to eliminate microaggressions to ensure diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
- Apply targeted self-care to specific areas of burnout, describe untargeted self-care patterns and blocks in order to develop an intentional, targeted self-care routine.
Table Top! Using Games to Develop Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) Skills

This presentation will explore the neuropsychological underpinnings of the social and emotional difficulties in children and how those challenges might manifest. Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) programs are designed to quantify and teach the skills for interpersonal interactions, self-regulation, emotional awareness, and prosocial communication. This presentation will model games that are effective in teaching these skills and empower teachers, parents, and students to implement them.
